International resistance to cuts: Europe, North Africa, [insert your country here]?

Leeds Coalition of Resistance public meeting

Wednesday 16th March, 6:00pm

Leeds Metropolitan University (Broadcasting Place) room AG03

It appears that resistance is growing across the world, to cuts in public services, to privatisation, and to governments that put the interests of money before the interests of people. The revolts in North Africa and the Middle East have been linked to both calls for greater democracy and protest at unaffordable rises in living costs.  Protests and strikes have happened across Europe in opposition to austerity measures.  These movements are not operating in isolation but we need to make the links more clearly. In October, the Coalition of Resistance will be hosting a European conference in London.

What are there links between these movements? What is the role of the labour movement in these times of crisis? And what can we learn from the events in other countries? Come along, join the debate and get involved.

Please note the change in title for this meeting.
